How to Dispose of Your PC or Monitor
The Computer Monitor Disposal Center offers a disposal service that takes broken computer monitors and disposes of them in an environmentally friendly way! Although there are times the dumpster may seem to be a good alternative to recycling you need to be aware that computer monitors are filled with components containing such hazardous elements as cadmium, arsenic, beryllium, chromium, mercury, nickel and zinc, believe us a monitor is not safe in a landfill.
Were you aware that:
More than in 2004 it was predicted that over 300 million computer monitors were expected to become obsolete. These computer monitors contained an estimated 400,000 pounds of mercury, 2 million pounds of cadmium, 1.2 billion pounds of lead, and 1.2 million pounds of hexavalent chromium. This makes the need for safe computer monitor disposal and recycling of paramount necessity.
Did you know that more than 20 million PCs became outdated in 1998 but just 14% of those were disposed of safely or recycled. By the end of 2002 that figure was estimate to be over 80,000,000.
The EPA's term for that old monitor or computer that you have sitting in your closet or garage, office is “Hazardous Waste”.
The Environmental Protection Agency has banned CRT (cathode ray tubes) from landfills because of their high amounts of lead alone. Computer monitors contain lead, lead can also be found on computer and monitor circuit boards. Our Computer Monitor Disposal Center in NJ ensures that when it’s time to donate or dispose of your old PC / computer monitors they will not end up in a landfill.
Computer monitor disposal centers have to adhere to strict governmental legislation. The New Jersey Electronics Disposal & Recycling Center recycles tens of thousands of computer monitors. We operate centers for disposal of CRT computer and PC monitor screens in New Jersey, New York and the Tri State area. TELEPHONE
